One of college football's oldest rivalries will have a unique twist this year. The Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars are set to face off in the Apple Cup as non-conference opponents for the first time since the trophy's creation in 1963.

This year's contest, set for the Seattle Seahawks' Lumen Field, is shaping up to once again be one of the season's most exciting rivalry game.

On DraftKings, the game is set at an eight-point spread, with WSU as the underdogs at +8. Both teams have -110 odds on that spread.

Also worth noting, last season's edition of the rivalry was the only one since 2013 decided by ten points or fewer.

In last year's contest, the Washington Huskies won the game at Husky Stadium with a last-second field goal, bring the final score to 24-21 in favor of UW. WSU's last victory in the series came in 2021, Jake Dickert's first Apple Cup.

This season, both teams are trying to replace key pieces all over the field, lost to the transfer portal or the NFL Draft. Washington have also replaced last year's head Kalen DeBoer, now at Alabama, with former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch.

Fans can watch the 2024 edition of the Apple Cup exclusively on NBC's streaming app Peacock.
