The Cougars offered Horton a scholarship back in March. He visited Pullman in April. 247Sports gave Horton a player rating of 85 and ranked him as the #20 overall recruit in the state of Arizona.

In addition to offers from WSU and Idaho State, Horton also had scholarship offers from Army, Navy, and Utah State at the FBS level, as well as Eastern Washington, Lehigh, San Diego, and Utah Tech.

As of July 21, Washington State's 2025 commitment class stands at 17 reported verbal commitments. The Cougars have one quarterback commitment in that group in Steele Pizella of Sherman Oaks, California. Pizzella committed to the Cougars back in June.
