The preseason LBM Coaches Poll was released on Monday, sharing who most of FBS college football's top coaches think will lead the pack in the 2024 college football season. Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama round out the top five.

Washington State finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 5-7. The Cougars started that campaign with four-game win streak, including two wins over top-25 clubs (Wisconsin and Oregon State). The Cougars then reached #13 in the AP Poll, but quickly fell out losing seven of their final eight contests of the year. WSU have not been ranked in a preseason poll since 2019 when they were #23 in the AP Poll under Mike Leach.

The Cougars are set to open the season on August 31 when they host Portland State at Martin Stadium.
