The Washington State Cougars continue fall camp in Pullman this weekend, ahead of their third season under head coach Jake Dickert. Sophomore wide receiver Tony Freeman, who recently joined the Cougars this spring, is already one of the standouts. That's at least partially due to the contested one-handed catch Freeman made in a video posted to the team's Instagram page.

Several of Freeman's teammates have commented on the post, including quarterback Zevi Eckhaus, who said "LET THAT BOY T-FREEEE!! 👨‍🍳."

Prior to enrolling at WSU in January 2024, Freeman spent the 2023 season at the College of San Mateo, where he made 40 receptions for 660 yards and seven touchdowns. He chose the Cougars over offers from San Jose State, Bethune Cookman, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Louisiana Tech, and Missouri State.

The California native reportedly impressed in spring ball as well, with WSU offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle especially singing Freeman's praises. ""He's showed up every single day. Every single day, he's balled out," Arbuckle said in an April interview with 247Sports.

Freeman is likely to feature in the Cougars' offensive attack when the season officially begins on August 31.
