Action Network's Brett McMurphy released his final preseason bowl game projections with the official beginning of the 2024 college football season just a few days away.

McMurphy projects the Washington State Cougars to reach the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Cougars are also projected as one-point underdogs to the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs in that projected matchup.

WSU are seeking their first postseason game since the 2022 campaign when Jake Dickert led the Cougs to the 2022 LA Bowl. Their last postseason win came at the 2018 Alamo Bowl under Mike Leach against Iowa State.

All the recently departed members of the Pac-12, as well as Washington State and Oregon State, are eligible for Pac-12-affiliated bowls this season. The Independence Bowl is one of those bowls.

Washington State will begin their 2024 season on August 31, hosting the Portland State Vikings.
