The score was Winston's second preseason score for Seattle. He also caught a touchdown pass last year in the Seahawks' win over the Vikings. He has five catches for 78 yards in Seattle's preseason.
"They showed up in man, didn't see a safety over the top," Winston said of the touchdown play. "Obviously I ran the go route, but you know I was hoping Sam [Howell] would give me a chance. you know it's other guys on the field running routes too so you know, you always got to run to expect the ball though. I beat him off the line and seeing the ball in the air and I was like just had to come down with it."
Winston is one of three former Cougars on the Seahawks' preseason roster, including linebacker Devin Richardson and offensive tackle Abraham Lucas. in two seasons with the Cougars in 2018 and 2019, finishing with 137 catches for 1624 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Seattle continues the preseason on August 24 when they host the Cleveland Browns.
