Their first year playing a West Coast Conference schedule, the Cougars will play 20 games against WCC squads, beginning with a trip to San Diego on December 19th.

The most notable game on their schedule will be January 11th when they host Gonzaga, who went undefeated in the conference last season at a perfect 16-0. The Cougars also travel to Spokane, Washington to take on the Bulldogs on Saturday, February 6th.

Though Portland upset Gonzaga in the WCC Tournament Championship Game, 67-66, the Bulldogs maintained a 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament before losing to Texas in the Sweet 16.

As for Washington State, they're coming off of a season where they finished ninth in the now-defunct Pac-12, closing the season with a 7-11 conference record and an overall mark of 21-15. After starting off the season 11-2, they struggled down the stretch, finishing the season 10-13, most of which were Pac-12 games.

Other games of note are against Santa Clara, a team they play against three times this season: the first on January 2nd in Pullman, as well as a second hosting the Gaels on February 22nd. In between these matchups, they travel to Santa Clara for the second game of the three-game cross-season series.

They play against former Pac-12 bunkmate Oregon State twice as well, both early in their conference slate. The will take a trip to Corvallis on December 21st as their second game of the WCC schedule, following it up by hosting the Beavers on January 4th.

Overall, it will be an adjustment playing in their new conference, but it may be a new opportunity for the Cougars to establish themselves as a new contender in WCC women's basketball.
