Ex-Husky Langston Wilson Finds New Basketball Team in Midwest

The forward left the UW after two seasons as a reserve.

Langston Wilson, one of seven players to exit the Washington basketball program once the season ended, will transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he disclosed on social media.

On Monday, the 6-foot-9 forward, who spent two seasons with the Huskies, tweeted out "1 more go round ... Milwaukee what's good?"

Wilson, who has a season of eligibility remaining, joins a Wisconsin-Milwaukee team coming off a 22-12 season and in need of big men.

Recently, the Panthers added 6-foot-10 Faizon Fields from Old Dominion. Now Wilson.

Wilson will have a chance to go out in more glorious fashion after his UW career plateaued this past winter to where he appeared in just 18 games, averaging 1.9 points and 1.7 rebounds an outing.

That was a drop of 10 games from the previous season for coach Mike Hopkins after he transferred in from two-year  Georgia Highlands College and was briefly signed to Alabama.

Wilson, a likable personality, brought great hops and shot-blocking ability to the Huskies. Yet he was greatly limited as an offensive player, often taking ill-advised shots, and it eventually cost him playing time.

He becomes the fifth UW player to find a new team, joining guard Keyon Menifield (Arkansas), forward Cole Bajema (Utah), forward Jackson Grant (Utah State) and forward Tyler Linhardt (Idaho). Guards Noah Williams and PJ Fuller remain unclaimed.
