More than 1,000 miles away, Jason Robinson Jr. watches intently what the University of Washington's big-play wide receivers are doing and says he's ready to join in the action.

On a perfect Thursday night for football in Southern California, the Husky 4-star commit paused for a moment after his unbeaten San Juan Hills High Stallions beat El Modena 39-18 and addressed his future.

He mentioned UW receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard and the NFL practically in the same sentence and what that means to him.

"Coach Shep can turn those receivers, like every single one, into a threat," Robinson told Max Torres of sister site Ducks Digest. "It's something I want to be a part of. All of those guys look like they could be league bound. That's my No. 1 goal. If I want to go the league, that's the best place."

On a productive evening in Orange, California, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound Robinson caught 6 passes for 83 yards and an 11-yard touchdown to put San Juan Hills up 14-0 and get the rout going.

For his 6-0 team, he lined up on the left side, ran into the end zone, did a curl and the ball hit him in the hands just as he turned.

Robinson, a transfer from Long Beach Poly, has season totals of 32 receptions for 539 yards and 7 scores.

As for the Huskies running up huge wins and largely making it happen through the air, including last weekend at Michigan State, Robinson says he's not surprised.

"They're doing what they're supposed to do," he said. "I went up to practice and I'm seeing them balling and I knew they were going to come into the season and were going to take it over. All I can say is I knew it was coming."

Robinson committed to the Huskies in June and he expects to attend the Washington-Oregon football game on Oct. 14. He and the other commits have bonded.

"It's a nice class — me and all those guys committed around the same time," he said. "We all pretty much have a connection. We talk a lot. This class is going to be a really strong class from all aspects. QB good, receivers good, that's it."
