House Ends Brief Portal Flirtation, Reaffirms UW Commitment

The Southern California linebacker isn't going anywhere.

Khmori House's flirtation with the transfer portal lasted all of 72 hours, with the University of Washington freshman linebacker declaring on social media he was sticking with the program.

If you blinked, you missed his brief roster absence.

On Wednesday, House gave the Huskies and new football coach Jedd Fisch added momentum by writing, "Husky Nation! I'm locked in. Time to turn the city up for real."

A 4-star recruit, the 6-foot, 187-pound player from powerhouse St. John Bosco High School in Southern California — the same place that provided the Huskies with NFL-bound cornerback Trent McDuffie and promising freshman linebacker Deven Bryant — entered the portal on Sunday, suggesting all along that his UW return was possible.

With former Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers drawing national headlines on Tuesday for reaffirming his Husky commitment, followed by House's re-commitment, Fisch's program-building efforts appear to be moving in a very positive direction.

House was one of the more highly decorated players in the Huskies' 15-player recruiting class that was signed by Kalen DeBoer in December, with seven of these players eventually turning to the portal after DeBoer left for Alabama and was replaced by Fisch.

Still keeping all options open are offensive lineman Paki Finau, quarterback Dermaricus Davis, edge rusher Noah Carter, defensive tackle Keona Wilhite, and safeties Joshua Lair and Peyton Waters, each of whom signed a letter of intent in December.

House and Bryant, both highly mobile linebackers, played side by side for a  13-1 St. John Bosco team in 2022 and it is hoped they'll someday soon be on the field together at Husky Stadium.

House is expected to wear No. 44, a number he pulled on two weeks ago while accompanying the Huskies as a spectator to the CFP national championship game in Houston.
