Preparing to lose a pair of senior tight ends, the University of Washington football staff has offered a scholarship to Tre Watson, formerly of Fresno State and a one-time Kalen DeBoer player.

This past season, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Watson started 12 of 13 games at tight end for a 9-4 Bulldogs team and caught 38 passes for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

The Rio Rancho, New Mexico, product recently finished his time with Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque, about 25 miles from his hometown. He shared in a 37-10 victory over New Mexico State and next entered the transfer portal.

As a freshman, Watson played for DeBoer's final Bulldogs team and started two of a dozen games that he appeared for a 10-3 team that similarly advanced to the New Mexico Bowl.

With his combination of size and athleticism, Watson is sure to draw a lot of portal attention. So far, he's received offers from UCLA, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Houston, California and the Huskies.

In his three-year career at Fresno State, Watson finished with 56 catches for 592 and those 4 scores.

His Bulldogs' roster bio indicates he previously was recruited coming out of high school by a Jimmy Lake-led UW program and several others.
