Huskies Return to Late-Night Outing with ASU Kickoff
Sun Devils is a nickname misnomer for the coming University of Washington-Arizona State football game — the sun will have set well before these two teams take the field.
Kickoff for the Oct. 28 game at Husky Stadium has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and FS1 will broadcast the proceedings.
While the now Kenny Dillingham-coached Sun Devils are limping along at 1-5, the game is important to the unbeaten and seventh-ranked Huskies (5-0 overall, 2-0 Pac-12) because this is the last team to beat them 12 months ago, though Oregon (5-0, 2-0), of course, provides a significant obstacle this coming weekend at Husky Stadium.
Also, the last time the Sun Devils visited Seattle in 2021 the UW was in total disarray and lost 35-30, with a suspended coach Jimmy Lake sitting out and getting fired the following day and program prospects looking about as bleak as can be.
A year ago, DeBoer took the Huskies into Tempe and came away a 45-38 loser to an ASU team that had just fired Herm Edwards.
The UW has won 12 consecutive games since that day in the desert, a winning streak that is superseded nationally only by Georgia's 22-game win streak.
With the ASU game, the Huskies will play three night games in four outings, after kicking off late at home against California and in Tucson at Arizona.
