Husky Football Tracker: Players Coming and Going Nonstop

It's been two months of fierce roster activity, never before seen in Montlake.
In this story:

Vince Nunley started all of this madness. Four days following the Pac-12 championship game, he checked out of the University of Washington football program and entered the transfer portal.

Two months later, the Huskies have been to the Sugar Bowl and the College Football Playoff championship game and back, lost and gained coaching staffs and had no fewer than 65 players coming and going — moves which include portal entries and withdrawals, transfers in and out, and commits, re-commits and de-commits — entering Wednesday's second signing period.

Whew.

As for Nunley, a 6-foot-1, 188-pound junior safety from Oakland, he still hasn't landed anywhere in the college ranks, as far as anyone knows.

Maybe he might consider coming back to the Huskies, who need a new pair of starting safeties. He made his first and only career start at Michigan State last September before he started having his "issues," which, nothing confirmed, might have been disagreements with the old coaching staff.

Either way, the roster shuffle for the national runner-up and under-new-management Husky football team has been nothing short of exhausting and dizzying.

Multiple UW players have fled to the SEC if not the general South. Center Parker Brailsford, wide receiver Germie Bernard and quarterback Austin Mack followed Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff remnants to Alabama, offensive guards Julius Buelow and Nate Kalepo moved in tandem to Mississippi and safety Asa Turner and his All-Pac-12 hair ended up at Florida, nickelback Mishael Powell went coast to coast from the UW to Miami, much like he did with his 89-yard interception return for a touchdown against Arizona State, and quarterback Dylan Morris turned to Virginia's James Madison to finish up his long-winding career.

Below are 65 players, Huskies new and old or not quite, who over 65 days have made decisions to come and go, official and unofficial, a list that will continue to grow in the weeks ahead.

Nothing like this short-range turnover, in this era of college football free agency and player poaching to and from the UW, has happened to the Husky football program before in its seven decades of existence.

We'll keep adding to this manifest as personnel activities merit, probably through spring football. Or beyond.
