Jordan Perryman would be the first person to tell you that 2022 wasn't his best year. After a fall camp full of hype and looking like one of the best players on the field, his bad luck started during Washington's season opener against Kent State.

In the third quarter, Perryman strained his quadricep, which he said on Wednesday bothered him for the next six games. He missed the first two of those, against Portland State and Michigan State, and certainly didn't look healthy in the Huskies' first loss of the year against UCLA.

Then in Washington's upset win against Oregon, Perryman dislocated his shoulder and finally broke his thumb in the Alamo Bowl against Texas, which required surgery to fix. The slew of injuries not only affected his play style, but his life off the field as well.

"It was one of the hardest times of my life," Perryman said. "I came here to prove myself, was banged up for more than half the season and wasn't able to show what I could do... I got a lot of hate [messages] from fans. ... It was rough."

When it comes to his play style, it only takes one look at his film to show that he didn't feel like himself all year. "[I couldn't show] my physicality at the line," he said. "If I can't run, I'm obviously not going to go up there and press somebody. So for the majority [of the season] I was off, and then when I was ready to run, there were more trials and tribulations."

Wednesday went a long way toward helping Perryman's case that there's a spot for him on an NFL roster. His 37.5-inch vertical jump, and unofficial 4.39 40-yard dash were both the best marks by any Husky at the pro day.

It might not be enough for the former FCS All-America player to hear his name called during the draft, but between what he showed he could do during fall camp, and his tape from UC Davis, an NFL team could come calling at some point.
