Following the NFL's final preseason games, the ensuing days when rosters need to be trimmed to 53 as teams begin preparations for the season can be very difficult. Multiple former Huskies found themselves caught up in those cuts and are now looking for new homes.

The Miami Dolphins released running back Myles Gaskin after his long-time running mate Salvon Ahmed outperformed him in the preseason. Gaskin has spent the entirety of his four-year career in Miami, where totaled 2,056 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns.

The Dolphins also released defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, who is now looking for his fourth team. Bronson played for both the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns during his rookie season in 2021, before spending the majority of the 2022 season on Miami's practice squad, appearing in only one game.

After signing him as an undrafted free agent, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to release another former Husky running back, Wayne Taulapapa. With the emphasis that Pete Carroll puts on Seattle's running game, there's a good chance that Taulapapa will be brought back to the Seahawks practice squad if he clears waivers.

Finally, former highly touted recruit Milo Eifler was released by the Washington Commanders. Eifler, who transferred from Washington to Illinois had been a crucial part of the Commanders' special-teams unit but was never able to work himself into the team's rotation at linebacker.

Following the cuts, Washington still has 37 players floating around on NFL rosters. Depending on who decides to leave the school for the 2024 NFL Draft, that number could also see a significant jump.
