Some people win Oscars. Michael Penix Jr. collects his fair share of Davey O'Briens.

For the second time this season, the University of Washington standout — now the leader to win the Heisman Trophy — was named Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week, a reward for his sterling performance against Oregon.

With 1:38 left to play, Penix threw a game-winning 18-yard scoring pass to Rome Odunze to secure a hard-fought 36-33 victory over the Ducks in a classic duel at Husky Stadium. He completed 22 of 37 passes for 302 yards and 4 TDs.

Penix is the first quarterback to be saluted multiple times this season with Davey O'Brien accolades. Previously, he won the weekly award after connecting on 27 of 35 passes for 473 yards and 4 scores in a 41-7 win at Michigan State.

O'Brien, for those who don't know him, was a TCU quarterback who was the first player to win the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award in the same year, doing this in 1938.

Besides the weekly recognition given out, the O'Brien foundation presents a quarterback of the year award at the end of the season to the nation's top player at that position.

The O'Brien weekly quarterback honorees so far are as follows:

Week 1: Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Week 2: Quinn Ewers, Texas

Week 3: Michael Penix Jr., Washington

Week 4: Cameron Ward, Washington State

Week 5: Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

Week 6: Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma

Week 7: Michael Penix Jr., Washington
