Ready or Not, Huskies Begin Spring Football Practice on March 6

The UW will hold three workouts before winter quarter ends.
In this story:

Changing things up from previous years, Kalen DeBoer's second University of Washington football team will open spring practice earlier than anyone can recall, on Monday, March 6 — less than three weeks away — and finish up with a spring game more than six weeks later on Saturday, April 22.

The athletic department hadn't made any official pronouncement of the spring schedule, but a few football staff members such as co-defensive coordinator William Inge obviously couldn't wait and posted the dates on social media.

In the middle of the NCAA-prescribed 15 spring football workouts will be a 19-day gap between March 10 and 29th to deal with the end of winter quarter.

Practicing from 8:30 to 10:30 each morning, the Huskies will conduct three practices on March 6, 8 and 10 before the quarter lets out and spring break takes over.

The UW football players will return for 12 more practices, with no more than three days separating each session thereafter.

After resorting to what was labeled a Spring Preview and involved plays mixed in with assorted drills, DeBoer's Huskies will conclude with a Spring Game on April 22, the only Saturday utilized for spring football purposes, in an event that begins at 1 p.m.
