Each week during the UW football season, I make a prediction for the upcoming Husky game on Q13 Fox’s “Talkin’ Huskies”, a Show featuring myself, Aaron Levine and Michelle Ludtka.

Looking at this week’s game vs USC, there are a number of things to consider when trying to pick a winner. First and foremost the Trojans starting QB was a third stringer when the season began and was thrust into action after the first two qb’s went down with injuries earlier this season. Matt Fink stepped up big last week vs Utah, but I believe that was more a reflection of USC’s dominant wide receivers making incredible, out of this world plays than Fink’s arm talent. I believe that the Husky defensive secondary will do a better job of containing those receivers this week and not find themselves in too many one on one situations. USC will also be missing their top defender Talanoa Hufanga on Saturday due to the concussion protocol.

The USC running attack was virtually non-existent vs Utah last week (13 yards) so hopefully the Husky front 5 or 7 won’t have too many problems stifling the rushing attack of USC. On the flip side, Washington’s offense was prolific last week even with the absence of star RB Salvon Ahmed. This week they get Ahmed back and Quentin Pounds returns to the squad after a 3 game suspension for violation of unspecified team rules. Husky Quarterback Jacob Eason seems to have full command of the playbook, and is putting up video game type numbers. My prediction is that the Dawgs have too much for the Trojans this weekend, and they win 38-24.
