Washington's Top LB Target Brayden Platt Releases Top 8

One of the best players in the state of Washington has released his list of top schools
In this story:

Four-star Yelm High School linebacker Bryaden Platt is widely regarded by recruiting experts as one of the best athletes in the class of 2024. He's also one of the best players in the state of Washington, where the Husky coaching staff is trying to revamp its image.

Platt has big dreams in both sports, as his pinned tweet states, "I will be [throwing] in the Olympics, and [in the] NFL." He took another step toward his NFL dream on Tuesday, releasing his top eight schools. However, Washington did not make his list.

The staff has been pushing its "Loyal to the Soil" campaign since it arrived, and it hoped to make the cut for Platt, who is an impressive two-sport athlete. Not only does he excel on the football field, where he plays both running back and linebacker for Yelm, but he's also one of the nation's best field athletes, nationally ranked in multiple events, including shot put and javelin.

After missing out on Platt, what's next for Washington at linebacker? The staff has put out 13 offers at the position, and seems to have a lot of interest in some of the best players in California.

Among a group of recent visitors were four-star LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and three-star Khmori House, who both attend powerhouse St. John Bosco. DeBoer's staff has begun to establish a relationship with arguably the best program in California, after earning a commitment from three-star Deven Bryant in the class of 2023.

If the staff is able to land one (or both) of the Bosco linebackers, along with one of either four-star Kamar Mothudi or three-star Michael Boganowski, it could soften the blow of losing out on the Platt sweepstakes.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
