Washington reeled in another former Arizona signee from the 2024 class on Thursday when offensive lineman Michael Watkins announced his commitment to the school.

Watkins from Apollo High School in Glendale, Arizona, joins former teammate Adam Mohammed, a running back, to flip from Tucson to Seattle.

Rated as a 3-star recruit by 247Sports, the 6-foot-3, 282-pound Watkins gives the Huskies added depth along the front line where the team is expected to enter spring practices thin in the ranks.

Since he enrolled at Arizona after signing with Jedd Fisch's football program during the early period in December, Watkins had to enter the NCAA transfer portal on February 8th to find his next home.

Similar to Bend, Oregon, tight end Charlie Crowell, who announced his decision to join Fisch at UW on Tuesday, it seemed only a matter of time before Watkins made his decision to join the Huskies official.

With Watkins coming to the program through the portal, he is expected to be able to participate in spring practice when it begins on April 2, according to Fisch.

Watkins becomes the second former Arizona offensive linemen to switch to UW, joining 3-star offensive tackle Justin Hylkema.

They'll be joined by Davit Boyajyan, a 3-star tackle from Clovis North High School in Fresno, and 4-star tackle Paki Finau out of Oak Hills High in Hesperia, California, who each committed to the program when headed up by former coach Kalen DeBoer and have remained firm under Fisch.
