Three-Star Recruit Landon Bell Decommits From Washington
On September 18, 2022, Landon Bell was the first person to commit to Washington's class of 2024. On Wednesday, he became the third person overall and second of the week to decommit from it.
Three-star quarterback EJ Caminong reopened his recruitment on Monday and four-star edge rusher Jaxson Jones flipped from Washington to Oregon in early January.
Bell is currently ranked just outside the top 1,000 players nationally in the class of 2024 and the product of Liberty High School in Nevada seems to be receiving a lot of interest from other Pac-12 schools. He recently returned from an official visit to Arizona, which seems to be the front-runner in his recruitment.
Now the question begs, what's Washington's plan at wide receiver? It feels like the coaching staff is planning on both Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze entering their names in the NFL Draft following the 2023 season, making it more likely that receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard has been tasked with pulling in three high school prospects at the position.
With that being said, Washington is bringing in four talented receivers on official visits over the next two weeks. Four-star receiver Kwazi Gilmer, who currently is ranked as the nation's No. 31 receiver is set to arrive on June 16 for his official visit.
Over the following week, the Huskies are bringing in four-star receivers Jason Robinson Jr. and Emmett Mosley on official visits, as well as three-star receiver Justice Williams.
With four-star offensive lineman Paki Finau currently the only member of the class of 2024, there's a lot riding on the upcoming official visits.
