Dowdell, Reed Selected to MLB Draft League Prospect Game
At the midpoint of the MLB Draft League season, two WVU Baseball players were selected to play in the league's Prospect Game. This game is the equivalent to Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, where the best in the game congregate to show off their skills.
Pitchers Kevin Dowdell and Carlson Reed are among 50 players selected for the game, and two of the West Virginia Black Bears' five representatives.
Dowdell and Reed are on Team Tremblay, coached by State College Spikes manager Dave Tremblay. Tremblay is joined on the coaching staff by Frederick Keys hitting coach René Rivera and Black Bears pitching coach David Carpenter.
Fans can watch Dowdell and Reed compete tomorrow, Jul. 5, at 6:30 pm EST on MLB.com, or in-person at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.
