West Virginia squares off against Indiana Friday evening

The West Virginia University baseball program earned its 14th postseason bid on Monday and will meet the Indiana Hoosiers on the campus of University of Kentucky in the opening round on Friday night with the first pitch set for 7:00 EST and streaming on ESPN+ while WVU play-by-play caller Andrew Caridi will be live on the Varsity App for the radio broadcast.

The host team, the Kentucky Wildcats, meet Ball State at noon. 

Indiana finished 41-18, including 16-8 in Big Ten Conference action. 

Five Hoosiers are batting over .300 at the plate with sophomore Brock Tibbitts hitting a team-high .372 and a team-leading 66 RBIs while freshman Devin Taylor has lifted a team-best 16 home runs. 

Sophomore right-hander Luke Sinnard sits atop the Hoosiers' rotation with a 6-3 record in 15 appearances and holds a 4.16 ERA and 109 strikeouts on the year.
