Jesse Edwards Questionable to Play vs. UCF

The Mountaineers could see their big man return on Tuesday.

Despite going through pregame warmups, West Virginia big man Jesse Edwards did not play in Saturday's win over No. 3 Kansas. However, interim head coach Josh Eilert is leaving the option on the table for him to make his return on Tuesday against UCF.

Eilert calls it a "fluid situation" and that Edwards will be re-evaluated ahead of tomorrow's game.

Edwards fractured his wrist in the loss to UMass on December 16th and has been out ever since. At the time of his exit, Edwards was averaging 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the field.

In his place, Pat Suemnick came to life over the last handful of games and was the catalyst in West Virginia's upset wins over Texas and Kansas. He led the team with 16 points in that game and recorded six rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end over the Horns and notched 20 points and six rebounds against the Jayhawks, outplaying one of the best players in the country, Hunter Dickinson.

West Virginia and UCF will tip things off tomorrow night in Orlando at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
