Jesse Edwards to Miss Four Weeks with Wrist Injury
Just as West Virginia was beginning to get their full roster back, they suffer another setback. Monday afternoon, interim head coach Josh Eilert announced that starting center Josh Eilert will miss four weeks due to a fractured right wrist and will have surgery this week.
Edwards is averaging 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the floor.
The only other true center on the Mountaineers' roster is Ali Ragab, a transfer from Gannon. Ragab has not played in a game yet this season, so it's likely that he'll see his first action relatively soon but still in a very limited role. Akok Akok is the prime candidate to fill in Edwards' spot in the starting five but is still on a minutes restriction. Patrick Suemnick has also seen time at the five spot.
