McBride Hits Nine Threes, Leads Knicks Past Raptors

Miles McBride continues to take full advantage of his expanded role with the New York Knicks. Wednesday night, he tied a career-high 29 points in the win over the Toronto Raptors, drilling 9-of-14 shots from beyond the three-point arc. He also added seven assists and three rebounds to his stat line.
The former West Virginia guard has posted three 20-point outings in his last five games and in those three games, he's connected on at least six threes. Head coach Tom Thibodeau was asked in his postgame press conference last night about McBride's confidence and if he sees a different player.
"Yeah, it's a good question. I mean, where does confidence come from? It comes from the work you put in, it comes from your preparation. And then I think when you see the results and we saw it in practice with the volunme of shots and the accuracy of his makes in practice and when he came back in training camp, it was clear. And now that his role has expanded, he's got a good rhythm and he can really shoot the ball and on top of that, his defense is top of the line. It was elite coming in and it's special to watch."
For the month of March, McBride is shooting the three-ball at a 46.2% clip which has helped him to average a little over 14 points per game. He and the Knicks will be back in action Friday night in San Antonio to take on the Spurs.
