Friday morning, WVU men's head basketball coach Bob Huggins announced the signing of Montana State transfer guard, RaeQuan Battle.

“RaeQuan is an athletic, dynamic scorer who can score in a multitude of ways,” Huggins said. “He’s very crafty with the ball, changes speeds and utilizes the shot fake extremely well to create his own shot. RaeQuan is a terrific person, and we are excited to have him.”

Battle chose West Virginia over Alabama, Cal, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, Wake Forest, and several others.

Battle spent the first two years of his career at Washington, where he averaged 4.8 points per game in a rather limited role. Following the 2020-21 campaign he transferred to Montana State. Over the past two seasons, Battle has become a big part of their success averaging 13.1 points per contest. This season alone, he went for 17.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks a game while shooting 47% from the field and 35% from three.
