Score Predictions for Big 12 Championship
Schuyler Callihan: Kansas 78, Texas 70
The Jayhawks may mot have Bill Self, but they're playing hard for him as he recovers from an illness. This group is starting to get hot at the right time and I just don't see a scenario where they lose this game or any game soon for that matter.
Texas got a little lucky not having to face Kansas State in the quarterfinals, so this is the first true test that they will have in Kansas City. I'm not a big believer in this group even though they did beat Kansas in the final game of the regular season.
Tonight, Kansas gets their revenge thanks to a big night from Dajuan Harris and Gradey Dick.
Christopher Hall: Kansas 81 Texas 75
Since Kansas made the trip to Morgantown, I pinned them as the best team in the country and they continue to live up to the billing.
Kansas has the 2023 Big 12 Player of the Year with forward Jalen Wilson, arguably the best point guard in the country with Dajuan Harris Jr. and the best three-point shooter Grady Dick.
Texas is loaded with talent as well, starting with guards Marcus Carr and Sir'Jabari Rice. Forward Timmy Allen has been a vital piece for the Longhorns and missed the first two games of the tournament with a 'lower leg injury' and has been listed as 'day to day.'
The Longhorns beat the Jayhawks in the season finale 75-59 but it was after Kansas had wrapped up the Big 12 Conference regular season title.
I suspect Kansas will continue its dominance in the Big 12 Championship and pull away from Texas in the latter stages of the contest. Kansas wins 81-75.
