Score Predictions for West Virginia at Kansas State

Our staff picks tonight's game between the Mountaineers and Wildcats.

The West Virginia Mountaineers (9-18, 4-10) wrap up their two-game road trip against the Kansas State Wildcats (16-11, 6-8) Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST with the action broadcasting on ESPN.

K-State Preview

Schuyler Callihan: Kansas State 72, West Virginia 59.

You all know the narrative by now...this team hasn't won a game on the road yet this season and every time it looks like they have an opportunity, they squander it. West Virginia may be able to hang in for 25-30 minutes, but it always seems like those last ten, things just fall apart.

Cam Carter, Arthur Kaluma, and David N'Guessan combined for 57 points against the Mountaineers earlier this season while Tylor Perry was rather quiet with just six points. If two of those four get going, it's going to be a long night.

In that first matchup, K-State pounded WVU on the glass and in the paint. This time around, West Virginia should be a little more competitive with Jesse Edwards down there. However, I don't see his presence making much of a difference in the outcome of the game. Wildcats win it comfortably.

Christopher Hall: Kansas State 76, West Virginia 72

The Mountaineers had one of their better road performances against Iowa State on Saturday but nine turnovers in the final 10 minutes in the contest, 23 overall, was too much to overcome.

Kansas State is averaging one more turnover per game than West Virginia during conference play.

West Virginia lost by 14 in the first meeting against Kansas State while Jesse Edwards was sidelined with wrist injury.

Kansas State is 2-7 in the last nine games, and with the Mountaineers improvements, they could capture their first road win. However, West Virginia has failed to make plays in the final minutes, and although the Wildcats have suffered the same fate, I'll give the nod to the home team. Kansas State ekes out the win 76-72.
