Score Predictions for West Virginia at Oklahoma State
The West Virginia Mountaineers (7-12, 2-4) travel to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-11, 0-6). Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. EST and the action will stream on ESPN+.
Schuyler Callihan: West Virginia 70, Oklahoma State 67.
Something's got to give, right? Oklahoma State can't lose every home game and West Virginia can't drop every road game. I believe in West Virginia a little bit more, albeit not much.
RaeQuan Battle had a rough outing in Orlando earlier this week, getting into foul trouble early and then getting ejected halfway through the second half, finishing with just five points. It's not often that Battle is off two games in a row and the same can be said about Pat Suemnick although he's really just started shaping into form over the last month or so.
Give me the Mountaineers on the road.
Christopher Hall: Oklahoma State 75, West Virginia 73
The Mountaineers have not played with the same intensity on the road as they have at home, finding themselves in a double-digit deficit early in the contests and in the three Big 12 road games, they have lost by an average of 23.7 points per game. West Virginia shot 37.5% from the field, including 29.7% from three-point range in the three losses.
Oklahoma State may be winless in the Big 12 but have played tough at home behind the play of guard Javon Small (13.9 ppg) and Bryce Thompson (12.5 ppg).
The Cowboys make an average of 9.1 threes per game rank second in the league and if the Mountaineers do not match their energy early, they can find themselves in another early hole.
Until the Mountaineers play with the same vigor on the road as they do at home, they'll continue to lose. Cowboys pick up their first conference road game of the season 75-73.
