Score Predictions for West Virginia vs No. 9 Baylor
West Virginia Mountaineers (15-10, 4-8) will wrap up their two-game road trip at Baylor with tipoff set for 9:00 p.m. EST and the action broadcasting on ESPN2. The Bears (19-6, 8-4) won the first meeting over the Mountaineers in Morgantown 83-78.
Schuyler Callihan: Baylor 81, West Virginia 68
Just when you begin to think the Mountaineers have turned the corner, they revert back to turning the ball over at an alarming rate, missing free throws, and playing lousy defense.
Unfortunately for them, things don't get any easier as they face off against arguably one of the hotter teams in the country in Baylor. Just like WVU, Baylor began Big 12 play 0-3, but have went 9-1 since.
I'm afraid this could be a repeat of Saturday with West Virginia scoring a few late buckets in garbage time to make it look a little more respectable. I'll take the Bears.
Christopher Hall: Baylor 82 West Virginia 69
Baylor has won nine of its ten games which was set off with am 83-78 victory in Morgantown.
Former WVU forward Jalen Bridges is averaging 9.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, including an 11-game stretch of hitting double figures where he averaged 12.2 points per game but has only tallied nine points in the last two games combined but kept offensive possessions alive in the Bears' at TCU on Saturday.
West Virginia is 1-14 in Big 12 Conference road games the last two seasons, picking up the lone win at Texas Tech last month and I do not believe WVU will pick up its second road win of the season against the Bears.
Baylor has stellar guard play led by freshman Keyonte George's 16.9 ppg, which includes his 32-point performance in Morgantown. While I don't think he will repeat his play, Adam Flagler and CJ Cryer will make up the difference, Baylor wins comfortably, 82-69.
