Score Predictions for West Virginia vs. TCU
The West Virginia Mountaineers (9-20, 4-12) host the TCU Horned Frogs (19-10, 8-8) Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 and the action will stream on ESPN+.
Schuyler Callihan: TCU 80, West Virginia 75.
It's the last home game of the season for the Mountaineers, but unfortunately, I have them falling a little short on senior night. TCU needs to get back in the win column to avoid damaging their NCAA Tournament resume and I believe they will. The win will be their first-ever inside the WVU Coliseum after coming up empty in their first eleven trips.
TCU surprisingly had their way in the paint in last month's matchup with the Mountaineers, limiting Jesse Edwards to six points and four rebounds. Edwards should have a better outing tonight, but he's going to need some help from his guards who got blown off the dribble way too often in the first game.
West Virginia makes it interesting, but TCU comes away with the win.
Christopher Hall: West Virginia 77, TCU 75
West Virginia has never lost to TCU inside the WVU Coliseum and I'm riding the stat for this game.
The Mountaineers have been horrific on defense all season, although they have moments their moments, primarily at home and most recently at Kansas State. They can be competitive on that end of the floor. They will need that effort against TCU.
West Virginia will need to take care of the ball and get back in transition defense. If the Mountaineers can be efficient in those two areas, they will win comfortably. Turnovers have been an issue on the backend of the schedule, except at Kansas State, so they are capable.
Additionally, it's Senior Night. I assume this group will want to play their best in front of friends and family.
West Virginia finds a way late 77-75.
