Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU vs. UMass

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each game day, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: West Virginia -2.5

1-star play on West Virginia covering (-2.5): As long as Kerr Kriisa, RaeQuan Battle, and Noah Farrakhan don't press and try to do too much, I think West Virginia should be able to cover this short number. Yes, they've been practicing but you don't have a clue what they're going to look like in their first real live game action in a long, long time. That said, talent takes over and the Mountaineers cover.

Over/Under: 145.5

2-star play on the under: 145.5 seems kind of high for a WVU game even for this new-look squad. It's not going to look perfect in their first time out and with how much UMass fouls, it could create a disturbance in flow on the offensive end for the Mountaineers. The offense looks improved, but is far from a finished product. A small lean to the under.

Last year's picks:

ATS record: 5-4 (56%)

O/U record: 7-2 (78%)

Overall: 12-6 (67%)
