Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU at Texas

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each game day, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Texas -11.5

3-star play on West Virginia covering (+11.5): I'm as close as it gets to putting a four-star play on this one, but I just can't quite get that confident with how inconsistent WVU is in combination with how they've played away from the WVU Coliseum this season. But 11.5 just seems like a lot of points for a Texas squad that has won just three games in the past month. The Longhorns were careless with the ball in the previous matchup with WVU and that alone will keep the Mountaineers in it.

Over/Under: 145.5

2-star play on the under: BYU couldn't miss last week, but if you remove that game, WVU's defense has improved in the previous three games. In addition to that, the Mountaineers are averaging 60.7 points per game in Big 12 road games. Taking an under with this team isn't an easy thing to do, but it makes sense in this spot.

Last year's picks:

ATS record: 8-14 (36%)

O/U record: 14-8 (64%)

Overall: 22-22 (50%)
