West Virginia loses a big piece in Tre Mitchell.

Monday afternoon, West Virginia forward Tre Mitchell announced that he will be transferring to Kentucky.

Mitchell averaged 11.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 47% from the field and 36% from three-point range in his lone season at West Virginia.

The Pittsburgh native transferred to West Virginia after spending a season at Texas. He spent his first years at UMass.

Mitchell is averaging 13.7 ppg and 5.9 rebounds per game for his career.
