The NCAA hasn't been very kind to the West Virginia men's basketball team recently when it comes to granting waivers for immediate eligibility.

There was the whole Jose Perez fiasco last season, and then a week ago, they denied the appeal from WVU for Omar Silverio thus ending his collegiate career.

It just so happens that the Mountaineers are awaiting answers on two more players who need a waiver to be eligible to suit up in 2023-24 for WVU and that is for Montana State transfer RaeQuan Battle and Eastern Michigan transfer Noah Farrakhan.

Battle began his career at Washington and after two years, decided to transfer to Montana State. Because he has not graduated and this is his second transfer, he needs cleared by the NCAA. This process has been lingering for months and the deeper we get into the offseason, the more impatient and nervous folks inside the program will get.

In 35 games last season, Battle led his team in scoring (17.7 ppg) while also averaging 2.9 assists per game and shooting 46% from the field and 35% from three-point range.

The same goes for Farrakhan, who committed to West Virginia on Thursday. He started out at East Carolina, but hung around for just twelve games. In two seasons with Eastern Michigan, Farrakhan averaged 14.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 43% from the floor and 34% from beyond the arc.

Battle has one year of eligibility remaining, whereas Farrakhan has two.
