West Virginia Battles No. 9 Baylor Monday Night

The Mountaineers are on the road to take on the ninth-ranked Bears

Waco, TX - The West Virginia Mountaineers (15-10, 4-8) will wrap up a two-game road trip and seek revenge against the No. 9 Baylor Bears (19-6, 8-4) Monday night with tipoff set for 9:00 p.m. EST and broadcasting on ESPN2.

The Bears have won nine of their last 10 outings which kicked off with a win over the Mountaineers in Morgantown 83-78. Freshman guard Keyonte George led all scorers with a season-high 32 points while guards Adam Flagler scored 19 and LJ Cryer chipped in 13 points. The trio of guards combine for 47.2 points per game. Forward Jalen Bridges produced 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in his return trip to Morgantown, after spending his first two seasons at WVU.

Baylor is coming off a 72-68 win at TCU, marking a three-game winning streak. The Bears lone loss in the last ten games was a five-point loss to Texas.

Meanwhile, West Virginia was just handed a 94-60 loss by the Texas Longhorns over the weekend after committing 20 turnovers on the day.

The Mountaineers have won four of their last six. However, West Virginia is 1-15 in Big 12 Conference road games the last two seasons.

West Virginia guard Joe Toussaint led the Mountaineers in scoring in the first meeting with the Bears with 20 points while Tre Mitchell put in 14.

Guard Erik Stevenson is averaging a team-high 14.2 ppg but has combined for 11 points in the last two games after producing two 30-point games in a span of three games. Tre Mitchell is second on the team in scoring at 11.5 ppg but has failed to reach double figures in five of the last six outings.

Baylor leads the all-time series 8-14 and has taken seven of the last eight meetings.
