What the ESPN BPI Says About WVU's Chances Against Kansas State
West Virginia looks to avenge its first loss of Big 12 play when they square up for round two with the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown.
The Mountaineers handed away the first matchup in Manhattan due to their inability to knock down shots from the free throw line. As a team, WVU shot 20/38 (52%) and missed several in the final minutes of regulation. They led by as many as 14 in the second half but the free throw struggles and 20 turnovers allowed K-State to get back in the game and send it to overtime, which they were in complete control of.
The Wildcats have won four straight which includes wins over Iowa State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma. WVU is coming off a big road win over Iowa State and with a win on Saturday, they can essentially punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
West Virginia is 9-3 versus Kansas State all-time inside the WVU Coliseum and have won three straight.
According to the ESPN BPI, West Virginia has a 69.4% chance to win while Kansas State has a 30.6% chance.
