Where Does WVU Sit in Latest ESPN Bracketology Projection?

The Mountaineers can improve their resume with a big win on Saturday.

Mark Kellogg has the West Virginia women's basketball team on a roll right now, owning a 16-2 (5-2) record.

In their last two games, they've been elite on the defensive end of the floor recording a pair of first quarter shutouts against Houston and Cincinnati while holding them to a combined 82 points.

This Saturday, the Mountaineers host a massive league game against the Iowa State Cyclones who are currently in a second place tie with Oklahoma. A win will not only put them firmly in the mix for the Big 12 title race but will also improve their NCAA Tournament resume.

As of Tuesday, ESPN bracketologist Charlie Creme has WVU projected as a No. 7 seed in the Portland region.

1. UCLA vs. 16. Hawai'i

8. UNLV vs. 9. Michigan State

5. North Carolina vs. 12. Ball State

4. Indiana vs. 13. South Dakota State

6. Syracuse vs. 11. Middle Tennessee State
