REPORT: Mohamed Wague Enters Transfer Portal
One man returns (Kerr Kriisa), another man leaves. Monday morning, West Virginia center Mohamed Wague entered the transfer portal, according to 24/7 HS Hoops.
In his first season at WVU, Wague averaged 4.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.5 blocks, and 0.3 assists in 28 games played. The 6'10", 210-pound big man shot 74.2% from the field and showed flashes of being a consistent scorer on the inside for the Mountaineers. However, his ability to block and alter shots at the rim is where he provided the most impact.
With Jesse Edwards transferring into the program from Syracuse, Wague was likely to remain in a reserve role off the bench. Wague missed the last handful of games due to a foot injury and did not appear in postseason play.
It is unknown at this time if Wague will consider returning to West Virginia or if his intentions are to leave the program.
