WVU Expresses Interest in Former TCU Center Eddie Lampkin

Could WVU add another big man fo next season?

Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com tells Mountaineers Now that West Virginia has reached out to TCU transfer Eddie Lampkin.

Lampkin left the program prior to the start of the Big 12 Conference tournament due to a fractured relationship between him and head coach Jamie Dixon.

In 24 games, Lampkin averaged 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds while shooting 54% from the floor but missed a handful of games due to a lingering ankle injury.

Current West Virginia bigs Jimmy Bell Jr., James Okonkwo, and Mohamed Wague all have eligibility remaining, but Lampkin (6'11", 263 lbs) would help improve the team's physicality at the position and give Huggins a similar body to Bell.

Lampkin has also heard from Arizona State, Arkansas, Boise State, Cincinnati, Florida, LSU, Providence, South Carolina, UCF, Xavier, and several others. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
