WVU Fans Vote for Next Head Coach

A decision is set to take place soon, but will it be one the fans are in favor of?

At some point this weekend, possibly even today, the West Virginia men's basketball team should have a new head coach. Athletic director Wren Baker has spent the last week contacting several candidates outside of the program but has also met with internal options, Josh Eilert and Ron Everhart, as well.

It appears former West Virginia/Michigan head coach John Beilien is out of the mix, so the race is between Andy Kennedy (UAB), Jerrod Calhoun (Youngstown State), Ritchie McKay (Liberty), Ron Hunter (Tulane), and Eilert/Everhart.

The current list of candidates don't seem to excite the fanbase as the majority of folks believe they should go the interim route. In my opinion, it's the best option as it gives them a chance to retain the roster and reel back in Tre Mitchell, Joe Toussaint, and Kerr Kriisa.

Yesterday, I asked the fans who they want to see as the next head coach. Voting is still open for the next few hours but at the moment, giving an interim tag to Eilert/Everhart is the preferred direction for over 50% of the voters.
