Mountaineers make the cut for Kentucky forward.

Class of 2025 forward EJ Walker (6'8", 230 lbs) of Lloyd Memorial HS in Erlanger, Kentucky announced his top twelve schools on Friday, featuring West Virginia.

Joining the Mountaineers are California, Dayton, Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

Walker has been recruited by West Virginia since his early high school days and has remained a top priority for interim head coach Josh Eilert over the last nine months. Although Eilert is not guaranteed to be the head coach moving forward or have a spot on the next coaching staff at WVU, he is operating as if he is.

If WVU does indeed go in a different direction, it could certainly change the level of interest from Walker and other recruits, for better or worse.

According to On3, the presumed leaders in Walker's recruitment are Purdue and Minnesota.

It Won't Be Huggins or Beilein for West Virginia
