West Virginia has reached out to a large number of players in the transfer portal this offseason but has had a high success rate at landing the ones they pursue heavily. One, however, did get away.

RJ Sunahara of Nova Southeastern canceled his visit to West Virginia and yesterday, announced his commitment to Georgia.

Sunahara was the D-II Player of the Year and helped lead the Sharks to a national championship over the West Liberty Hilltoppers, which is located near Wheeling. Sunahara notched 28 points in that game on 12/17 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and an assist. For the season, Sunahara averaged 18.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.

He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
