10. Kansas (3-7, 1-6 Big 12)

Results: Lost to K-State 21-17

Up Next: @ Oklahoma

Kansas missed its best chance to pick up another conference win against the Wildcats. With HC David Beatty already on his way out, the Jayhawks don’t have much left to play for outside of pride. With their final games coming against Oklahoma and Texas, it’s likely that Jayhawks will finish the season 3-9.

9. TCU (4-6, 2-5 Big 12)

Results: Lost to WVU 47-10

Up Next: The Horned Frogs struggles continued as they are now 1-4 over their last 5 games. TCU has suffered numerous injuries this year, in a season that has failed to live up to expectations. TCU will need to play well over the next two weeks, as they’ll need to win out to become bowl eligible.

8. Kansas State (4-6, 2-5 Big 12)

Results: Win vs Kansas 21-17

Up Next: Texas Tech

The Wildcats were able to pick up their second conference win over last place Kansas. The season has been full of disappointment for the Wildcats, and with upcoming games against Texas Tech and Iowa State, the Wildcats chances of making a bowl game are in doubt.

7. Baylor (5-5, 3-4 Big 12)

Results: Lost to Iowa State 28-14

Up Next: TCU

Baylor was unable to continue their momentum from their win over Oklahoma State, as they dropped their fifth game of the year to ISU. This season has already been a huge improvement for the Bears over last season, and if the Bears want to make it to a bowl game this season, they will to pick up a win against TCU or TTU in the coming weeks.

6. Oklahoma State (5-5, 2-5 Big 12)

Results: Lost to OU 48-47

Up Next: West Virginia

Bedlam was as exciting as always in a shootout that saw 95 points on the board. The Cowboys opted to go for two with around a minute left after a late score, but came up short. OSU is sitting at 5-5 right now, and will have upcoming games against WVU and TCU to try to get bowl eligible.

5. Texas Tech (5-5, 3-4 Big 12)

Results: Lost to Texas 41-34

Up Next: @ Kansas State

The Red Raiders lost in a heartbreaking fashion to the Longhorns. Even playing with their backup QB, the Red Raiders were able to hang with Texas until the end. Texas Tech will have a chance to finish the season with a few wins with upcoming games against KSU and Baylor, as they look to become bowl eligible.

4. Texas (7-3, 5-2 Big 12, No. 19 CFP)

Results: Win vs Texas Tech 41-34

Up Next: Iowa State

Texas was able to snap its two game losing streak with a win against the Red Raiders. The high scoring game featured plenty of offense, and a last minute touchdown catch by Lil’Jordan Humphrey that was eerily reminiscent of Michael Crabtree’s catch from 10 years ago. While their playoff hopes are over, the Longhorns still have a chance to finish with a 10-win season in Tom Herman’s second year.

3. Iowa State (6-3, 5-2 Big 12, No. 22 CFP)

Results: Win vs Baylor 28-14

Up Next: @ Texas

The Cyclones stay strong in 3rd place in our rankings. After a disappointing start to the season the Cyclones have now rattled off five straight wins and are now bowl eligible. Iif the Cyclones are able to win out, and if the Mountaineers drop another game, they could find themselves in the Big 12 Championship game.

2. Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1 Big 12, No. 6 CFP)

Results: Win vs Ok State 48-47

Up Next: Kansas

The Sooners won in a shootout over the Cowboys in a game that came down to a failed 2-point conversion attempt for OSU. While the Sooners’ offense is as powerful as ever, they have allowed 93 points to opponents in the last two games. Their defensive struggles are enough to drop them to the #2 spot in our rankings.

1. West Virginia (8-1, 6-1 Big 12, No. 9 CFP)

Results: Win vs TCU 47-10

Up Next: @ Oklahoma State

Since their disappointing loss to ISU, the Mountaineers have taken care of business. They have now won their last 3 games by a combined 147-65. With the defense playing well, and the offense clicking, the Mountaineers find themselves on top of our power rankings for the 2nd time this year. While there is a chance that the regular season matchup between WVU and OU could have serious playoff implications, WVU cannot afford overlook this week’s game against and up-and-down OSU.
