After cruising to a 47-10 win over TCU on Saturday afternoon, West Virginia's path to the Big 12 Championship Game became that much easier.

Here are the possible scenarios for the Mountaineers to play for its first-ever Big 12 title:

Win Out

Pretty simple theory here. If West Virginia finishes the season 10-1, its spot in the Big 12 Championship game is guaranteed. Beating Oklahoma State in Stillwater and Oklahoma in Morgantown in consecutive weeks, however, is far from a sure thing. The opposite is also true. If the Mountaineers drop its final two regular season games, it all but eliminates them from making it to Dallas.

Lose Only One Remaining Game

West Virginia can technically lose one of the its two remaining games and still make it to the Big 12 Championship Game.

There is really only one scenario that will keep West Virginia from playing for a Big 12 title if it splits the final two games. If Iowa Sate wins out and West Virginia wins in Stillwater but loses to Oklahoma, the Cyclones would jump the Mountaineers, being on the right side of that tie-breaker.

In essence, West Virginia will punch its ticket to Dallas by first beating Oklahoma State and having Texas win at home against Iowa State this week. If the Mountaineers fall on the road to the Cowboys but win at home in the season finale, West Virginia will still make it to the title game as either a one or two seed.

Oh, and Kansas could sort throw wrench into all of this if it finds a way to win against Oklahoma and Texas.

We'll save that for another day, though.
