Monday evening, West Virginia University receiver Cortez Braham announced he will enter the NCAA Transfer portal, after leaving the team in late September.

"First, I would like to thank God for the opportunity to play on one of the biggest stages in college football because without him none of this would be possible.

Next, I want to thank West Virginia football and the rest of the staff for the amazing opportunity to play at one of my dream schools. I will forever be grateful.

Most importantly, I would like to thank my family and friends for being there for me every step of the way. After talking to my family and doing a lot of praying, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal as a grad transfer with 1 year of eligibility,"

The Baltimore native transferred to WVU in January of 2022. He registered 14 receptions for 147 yards in his first season as a Mountaineer. However, he only appeared in four games this year, bringing in three passes for 17 yards after earning the starting role at the 'X' receiver until redshirt freshman Hudson Clement had a breakout game in week two versus Duquesne with five receptions for 177 yards and three touchdowns.
