Brown Reveals Why Lance Dixon Missed the Oklahoma State Game

The West Virginia linebacker's status is unknown going forward.

West Virginia linebacker Lance Dixon was not in uniform on Saturday for the homecoming game against Oklahoma State. Monday afternoon, head coach Neal Brown revealed that Dixon was suspended for the game and that his status moving forward is to be determined. Details of the suspension were not provided.

Brown said that the defensive line played better than the previous week but that WVU played poorly at inside linebacker, outside linebacker, spear, and safety against Oklahoma State. Dixon's absence played a part in that.

Redshirt sophomore Caden Biser will get in the game early at linebacker this Saturday against UCF, according to Brown, which could hint at Dixon's availability for this week.

In six games this season, Dixon has recorded 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup.
