Former West Virginia quarterback has landed a new coaching gig. Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Trickett will be the new tight ends/inside receivers coach at Georgia Southern. He will also hold the title of pass game coordinator.

"Clint is known for his pass game knowledge as both a player and as a coach. He has been in multiple leadership positions in his coaching career and is one of the more talented young coaches in the game today," head coach Clay Helton said in a press release. "He has seen college football at the highest level and is very well respected for his recruiting success in the Southeast. We will continue to bring in the most sought-after coaches in the country and Clint is a great example of that."

Trickett joined Charles Huff's initial staff at Marshall in 2021 as the wide receivers coach. In 2022, Trickett took over the reins of the offense and helped the Herd to a 9-4 record, including a win over Notre Dame on the road.

This season, the Herd went 6-6 and struggled on the offensive side of the football. They finished 87th in total offense (357.8), 65th in passing (223.5), 92nd in rushing (134.2), and 91st in scoring (23.2). At the end of November, Trickett was relieved of his duties.

"I'm fired up for this opportunity to join Coach Helton's staff at Georgia Southern," Trickett said. "Coach Helton has been synonymous with top offenses everywhere he's been, and I'm excited to work under him and Coach . I know the tremendous pride and traditions of this program run deep, and I am honored to be able to get this program back to the championship level that Eagle Nation is accustomed to."
