Did Pat McAfee Just Leak that Pat White's Jersey Could be Retired?

Former West Virginia punter Pat McAfee talks about his conversation with Shane Lyons

Prior to the Mountaineers Halloween kick against the Baylor Bears in Waco, former West Virginia punter and now ESPN Thursday Night College Football color analyst Pat McAfee met up with WVU AD Shane Lyons.

Lyons gave McAfee a No. 40 jersey and the two had some very interesting conversations about possibly retiring Pat White's number five jersey.

McAfee, along with many other teammates of White and former players have been clamoring for this to get done. Although, the criteria to retire a jersey at West Virginia is very strict as McAfee mentioned in the video above. The criteria may be even deemed being too strict, guys like Pat White, Major Harris and others may never have a chance if it isn't reconfigured.

White holds numerous school and NCAA records and is the first quarterback to finish with a 4-0 record in bowl games. His legacy will be one that will live on for many generations in Morgantown and whether or not his jersey will be retired is remained to be seen.
